** The following review reflects my experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** There's a certain level of satisfaction you get when you buy fresh produce from a locally owned market whose business probably depends on the number of people who pass by on their way home from BART. There are several similar markets on Mission, but La Canasta's more central location close to 16th Street and its brightly colorful awning seems to catch my eye more than the others. I've gotten tomatoes, garlic, and the occasional mango here. There's also fresh meat cut up by a butcher. Yes, I figured out what a carniceria is. It's definitely worth a stop.
